Support for Elidenia's Family After Tragic Loss

Elidenia Jorge da Silva viveu nos EUA por 12 anos e depois voltou ao Brasil por alguns anos. Há 6 anos, retornou aos EUA com sua filha. Ela sempre foi uma mãe muito presente, caridosa, religiosa e honesta. Ela deixa muitas saudades.

Ela conheceu Edirlei Ramos Tofoli, hospedando-o em sua casa, pois ele estava morando em um carro e ela quis ajudá-lo. Foi um relacionamento curto, de poucos meses, e abusivo, com violência doméstica. A família interveio e ele foi preso pelas violências praticadas contra ela. De dentro da cadeia, ele ligava e convencia Elidenia de que foi um momento ruim, que a amava muito, e que o ciúme o dominava. Assim foi por um bom tempo.

Ele já não estava mais morando no apartamento dela. Teve o carro guinchado por falta de pagamento e pediu ajuda para alugar um carro, pois era sua única opção de trabalho. Mais uma vez, ela o auxiliou e o ajudou. E essa foi a última vez.

Elidenia tinha uma vida organizada, estável e era muito trabalhadora. Em poucos meses, ele conseguiu destruir os sonhos que ela tinha. Nao sabemos exatamente se ele a matou no dia 1 ou 2, mas o corpo foi encontrado no dia 4 de de julho de 2024. Ele a atacou pelas costas, dando o primeiro golpe com tamanha violência que a faca ficou cravada no pescoço dela. Ela tinha apenas 48 anos e uma vida inteira pela frente.

Horas depois, o sobrinho encontrou seu corpo, obviamente sem vida. Ela veio a óbito desumanamente, sem socorro, e pelo tempo calculado pela polícia, ele tranquilamente a assistiu agonizando e deve ter partido depois de ter certeza de que a vida dela já havia acabado. Entre dor e revolta, ela tinha esperança de que poderia ajudá-lo a se transformar em uma pessoa melhor. Mas isso não aconteceu.

Elidenia deixa uma filha e uma mãe de 84 anos, sem palavras para expressar seus sentimentos. Infelizmente, com a morte vêm custos, e custos altos. Com o desejo da família de realizar um funeral com corpo presente e, depois, a cremação para enviar as cinzas à família no Brasil, decidi criar este GoFundMe.

Este caso tocou a comunidade brasileira e abriu os olhos para o abuso doméstico. Nada e nenhum dinheiro no mundo trará Elidenia de volta, porém, podemos oferecer à família um pouco de paz financeira. Nenhum valor é pouco ou muito, e cada centavo será para ajudar nesse difícil processo. Infelizmente, ele covardemente retirou a própria vida, e não se pode fazer justiça à vida dela.

Elidenia Jorge da Silva lived in the USA for 12 years and then returned to Brazil for a few years. Six years ago, she returned to the USA with her daughter. She was always a very present mother, charitable, religious, and honest. She is dearly missed.

She met Edirlei Ramos Tofoli, hosting him in her home because he was living in a car and she wanted to help him. It was a short relationship, just a few months, and abusive, with domestic violence. The family intervened, and he was arrested for the violence against her. From inside the jail, he would call and convince Elidenia that it was a bad moment, that he loved her very much, and that jealousy had overtaken him. This continued for a long time.

He was no longer living in her apartment. His car had been towed for lack of payment, and he asked for help to rent a car, as it was his only work option. Once again, she helped and supported him. And that was the last time.

Elidenia had an organized, stable life and was very hardworking. In a few months, he managed to destroy the dreams she had. She supported him, and without remorse, he killed her on July 2, 2024, attacking her from behind, delivering the first blow with such violence that the knife remained lodged in her neck. She was only 48 years old and had an entire life ahead of her.

Hours later, her nephew found her body, obviously lifeless. She died inhumanely, without help, and according to police calculations, he calmly watched her agonize and probably left only after being certain that her life had ended. Amidst pain and revolt, she had hoped she could help him become a better person. But that did not happen.

Elidenia leaves behind a daughter and an 84-year-old mother, who is at a loss for words to express her feelings. Unfortunately, death brings costs, and high costs. With the family's desire to hold a funeral with her body present and then cremate her to send the ashes to her family in Brazil, I decided to create this GoFundMe.

This case touched the Brazilian community and opened eyes to domestic abuse. No amount of money will bring Elidenia back, but we can offer the family some financial peace. No amount is too small or too big, and every penny will help in this difficult process. Unfortunately, he cowardly took his own life, and justice cannot be served for her life.
