Since Christmas Day, my nephew Eli, sister Katie and her husband Pete have been facing an unimaginable medical battle. Their 6 year old son, Eli, was hospitalized with a severe, treatment-resistant MRSA- STAPH infection in his left leg.

Eli had a surgery Christmas night and a second procedure on December 29th to attempt to control the infection and save his left leg. His doctors are currently working to find an antibiotic that is effective against the infection.

Once a treatment is identified and his blood tests are stable, Eli will require a PICC line in his chest and his doctor has said he will remain in the pediatric hospital, for at least another 4 to 6 weeks.

The logistical toll on her their family is immense right now. Katie & Pete are also full-time caregivers for their other son, Nev, who requires 24/7 care and as well as their other son, Jacob. They are splitting their time between the hospital and home and Pete is currently unable to be at work, as they rotate shifts.

We are raising funds to help cover their bills and basic necessities so they can focus entirely on Eli’s recovery and Nev’s stability. The Angelone & Alvizures families appreciate all of you!
