My name is Edna and I am writing this with a heavy heart since my mom passed away March 11th, 2026 Tuesday morning. This was a sudden death and we did not see this coming, she passed away from a cardiac arrest. I am a single mom of four kids and during this grieving time I ask for any support to be able to give my mom a beautiful service that she deserves. For many years my mom suffered with diabetes and many other health issues but I always did my best to take of her until we unexpectedly lost her. My mom was my right hand and loved all her grandchildren, she loved to dance and sing cumbias. She was the most loving and hard working mom and grandma, she was well known for selling fruit for many many years in Downtown LA. They would call her “La Abuela” which meant the grandma, she was loved by the whole community and had many friends who loved her as well. She would always help people in need who had no shelter or food and always feed them when she can. She had a huge heart and loved helping others even if she didn’t know you. I still can’t believe she is gone, but within this difficult time we would appreciate any donations from the bottom of our hearts.
Mi nombre es Edna y escribo esto con el corazón lleno de tristeza, ya que mi mamá falleció la mañana del martes 11 de marzo de 2026. Fue una muerte repentina que no esperábamos; ella falleció a causa de un paro cardíaco. Soy madre soltera de cuatro hijos y, durante este tiempo de duelo, pido cualquier apoyo que nos ayude a poder darle a mi mamá el hermoso servicio que se merece.
Durante muchos años mi mamá sufrió de diabetes y muchos otros problemas de salud, pero siempre hice todo lo posible por cuidarla hasta que inesperadamente la perdimos. Mi mamá era mi mano derecha y amaba mucho a todos sus nietos. Le encantaba bailar y cantar cumbias. Fue la mamá y abuela más amorosa y trabajadora.
Era muy conocida por vender fruta durante muchos, muchos años en el centro de Los Ángeles. La gente la llamaba “La Abuela”, y era querida por toda la comunidad. Tenía muchos amigos que también la querían mucho. Siempre ayudaba a las personas necesitadas que no tenían refugio o comida, y siempre que podía les daba de comer.
Tenía un corazón enorme y le encantaba ayudar a los demás, incluso si no los conocía. Aún no puedo creer que ya no esté con nosotros, pero en este momento tan difícil agradeceríamos cualquier donación de todo corazón.
