TW/CW: Transphobia, violence against trans women
Sunday August 16th, three trans women of color, Eden the Doll (@edenthedoll), Jaslene White Rose (@jaslenewhiterose) and Joslyn Flawless (@joslynflawless) were brutally attacked by a group of 6 cisgender men on Hollywood Blvd. They were robbed, beaten and ridiculed as the entire ordeal was being filmed by one of the attackers.
Onlookers and people passing by, including the police, did absolutely nothing for these women who were crying out for help.
The survivors are calling for the attackers to be arrested and charged for their crimes, but what else can we do? How else can we support our trans sisters while also still calling to abolish the police? We can help them by donating funds.
Let's support them financially to give them the space to heal and take care of themselves however they see fit. This money will also assist them with legal fees. The money will be delivered electronically directly to Joslyn's bank account and she will distribute it evenly between herself, Eden, and Jaslene. They will be able to withdraw this money and use it as needed.
