First I want to thank each and every one of you for your prayers for my dad Eddie Collins. Words cannot express our gratitude for you all. Miracles have occurred within my dad's situation already. Since the beginning, the doctors have been telling us that my dad had suffered a devastating brain injury. but he has the strength of a Lion. Like most of my loved ones know that his road to recovery has been very long 2 months to be exact so far. This illness has really taken on a toll on my family financially. My dad needs his family here for support. he’s relying on all of us. Eddies story: On August 16, 2020, my dad was found unresponsive on the floor. After three hours of being unresponsive my dad was found. He immediately was rushed to the hospital and It was discovered that he had an Intercerebral hemorrhage which is a massive brain bleed he was immediately rushed into surgery for a craniotomy to stop the swelling and bleeding on his brain he then was placed on a ventilator. He then fell into a coma. Being in critical condition and given a 2% chance of surviving, he has struggled with infections a blood clot, and completely not being able to move the left side of his body, and many other obstructions. He is still fighting this and slowly began to open his eyes more. They are slowly trying to still ween him from the ventilator. His battle is far from over with multiple types of rehabilitation needed. Once off the ventilators, he will need to be immediately moved to a rehab facility. Unfortunately, I don't live in Birmingham so I travel from Loganville, Georgia to Birmingham Alabama on a weekly basis since this has happened to be by his side. So I have completely depleted me and my husband's savings to keep up with basic household needs since I have missed so many days from work. I currently need help with gas and food to come down the highway weekly and also help with future bills so we won't get too far behind while I am here with my dad. Also, my dad doesn't have any health insurance so the hospital bills are currently mounting. These are the tough times we are reaching out for your help. His long journey is just now beginning. Prayers come first and contributions second. We are going to need all the help we can get and greatly appreciate anything you can contribute. Again, thank you everyone for everything your blessings will help myself and also my dad's road to recovery. Thank you, everyone, for your blessings and donations today is Eddie's 68th day in the Neuro ICU unit at the hospital.
