As many of you know, sweet Easton who is only five years old was born with an unfortunate heart complication called Unbalanced Complete AV Canal Defect. He is having severe complications and his family can use any help you have to give. Please feel free to message me for Venmo info for larger donations, as GoFundMe takes a percentage. I will try to attach Venmo info as well.
Here’s a description from his mom of the events that have taken place:
Easton was supposed to receive another repair to his heart on 9/11 at Boston Children’s Hospital. This would be his 5th one. We didn’t know if it would be the final one or a staged one, which means a bridge to another repair later on the road. More testing needed to be done to determine this info. So after a sedated MRI on 9/7 and a sedated 7+ hour Catheter lab procedure on 9/8, we discovered that his Glenn shunt and left pulmonary artery were completely occluded (clotted). The catheter lab procedure was successful to open the Glenn shunt and left pulmonary artery, however 48 hours later, it completely clotted off again. So we were forced to address this new issue again, knowing the only way to repair it was open heart surgery. So his original 9/11 surgery was canceled and we quickly shifted gears. With so much disappointment and being forced to deliberate between 3 potential choices in 24 hours, Easton went in for open heart surgery on 9/13 for something we didn’t expect, but needed to be done. Immediately after surgery, they needed to put him on a high dose of blood thinners because they worried the Glenn shunt would clot off again. He then had a complication from the surgery called chylothorax. At this time we knew we would be spending a substantially longer time than anticipated at the hospital. Then suddenly on 9/17 he was in the worst pain of his life and became unconscious. A CT scan confirmed he was having a massive brain bleed in his right cerebellum. He immediately had to have emergency brain surgery, performing a craniotomy to save his life.
Due to all of these unforeseen complications, I’m asking for donations small or large for this wonderful family to help offset the cost of lost income since the family is 100% focused on Easton fighting through this, and medical bills.
The family is asking for prayers and thoughts for Easton to fight through everything he has had to endure in just a few days
