Support for EastBrook Middle School

Today the unthinkable happened; tragedy hit our hometown. From what we've seen and read through out the day, it doesn’t seem to matter how long ago you left, or how far you may have gone, our hearts are still in Paramus. I think we’re all struggling to process the enormity of what happened to our home and community today. But as the community continues to mourn those who were lost and rally around the survivors, we are coming together to show our support for the younger generation of Paramus kids. We share in the grief of the families and educators deeply impacted by the horrific crash on Route 80 in Mount Olive on the morning of May 17th. These children and their teachers were on their way to Waterloo Village. Many of us took this trip. Many of us know teachers or students who go to East Brook, and half of our class attended East Brook themselves. Regardless of the connection, we are all sharing in the community’s grief.  Please consider helping us raise money to help our hometown community. Our plan is to reach out directly to the school and let them decide how best to help the families, whether it's to assist in medical bills, a memorial or maybe even a scholarship.  Please help us any way you can. Thank you. PHS Class of '97 My name is Jennifer LoGiudice Francis. I was raised in Paramus and attended Parkway Elementary School, West Brook Middle School and graduated Paramus High School in 1997. My classmates and I joined our efforts to start this campaign. I grew up with parents of the students impacted by the accident and former classmates of mine currently work at East Brook. There has been a great deal of flourish to get this campaign off the ground and in order to do that, we were very general with our donative intent. We have reached out to various EBMS employees, involved family members, PTA members and Board members to discuss need. I am incredibly grateful to the members of my class assisting in this campaign and our generous donors. At this juncture, we believe the best use of the funds will be in the hands of the Paramus Children's Health Foundation. We trust they will utilize the donations as they deem fit to help the families impacted by this unimaginable tragedy. They have been named as the beneficiary of the campaign funds.
