Hello, I am fundraising on behalf of my cousin, Dustin McPherson and his beautiful family. They are a family of 5 with 3 children ages 8,11 and 14. They own and run a Home Remodeling business. With Dustin unable to work, they are facing the lost income, as well as the medical financial burden.

On Saturday Oct. 25th, Dustin hurt his back. As the days went on, the pain intensified along with numerous other symptoms. By the next weekend, he was experiencing intense pain in his left hand, as well as the back pain and flu-like symptoms. Finally, he went to the hospital. After many labs, CT scans, MRI's and Xray's, it was determined that Dustin had infections and abscesses in his hand (After spending the week in the hospital with no real answers or improvement). He was immediately rushed in for surgery, where the surgeon noted that it was the worst infection he had ever seen. After seeing an Infectious Disease Doctor, they were worried that his back pain was also an infection. As it turned out, he did have another bad infection in the back of his thigh. Dustin had to be transferred to Portsmouth Regional Hospital on 11/14 for more surgery and higher-level care. Once there and undergoing more tests, they determined that they cannot handle the surgery there. As of today, 11/16, Dustin is waiting for a bed at Dartmouth Hitchcock, or a hospital in Boston. Today he is slated to have a drain put in one of the larger abscesses in his hamstring to help alleviate the pain while waiting for surgery.

They do not have health insurance and are looking at medical bills that exceed $300,000 and continue to climb. Certain medications and therapies need to be paid for upfront.

Dustin and Jackie are loving, kind, generous, and selfless people. They are the last people that would be asking for help. We need to rally and support them in this terrible ordeal they are facing. The last thing they need to be worrying about is how they are going to pay their medical bills.
