Support for Drew's Family

On April 23rd 2018 we lost a very special member of our family, Andrew Newsome. Drew, as most people knew him, was a quiet force who had a strong love for photography. He was passionate about his community and uplifting those who society often overlooked. If you listen to the many stories about encounters with Drew, you will hear that he always had good vibes and left a profound impact on many lives. What is remarkable is that most of his work happened in the shadows, during intimate conversations or small gestures that many did not see. Drew was a vital part of several movements that created oppurtunities for people living in the GTA. He was a selfless man who sacrificed so much for the wellbeing of others. If you knew Drew, you knew a quiet and calm man who chose to share his thoughts and thirst for learning when it mattered most. At times, he didn't say much, but when he did he spoke with power, love, and compassion. Drew was an amazing big brother and mentor to 6 sisters and a cherished uncle to his niece. He was a godfather who undoubtedly lived up to the title and enjoyed every minute of it. Drew was a supportive friend to me and many others. Andrew Newsome was a wonderful and loyal son and friend to his mother, whom he would often celebrate through the sharing of stories. Our brother, not only believed in the power of love and friendship but existed as a living example of their power. He has left a legacy of greatness that will never fade. We will celebrate his life, cherish the memories, and carry on his work of love. On behalf of Drew's family we have started this Go Fund Me campaign hoping to provide them with the appropriate time, space and tools to grieve their loss. Your contribution will go towards supporting Drew's family with funeral costs, memorial service and resources to aid in the healing process. *Once the money is withdrawn, 100% of it (minus gofundme fees) will be transferred directly to the family. Jalisa Newsome (Andrew's sister) will be appointment as the benefiaciary and will make the withdrawal on behalf of the family, who will use the funds for funeral fees and to help rebuild their lives after the loss of Andrew.
