Update 6.17.2026:
Doug made it through surgery. The surgeons were able to repair his heart and remove the blood clot, which we are incredibly grateful for.
Due to complications, they were unable to complete the remaining procedures, and he still has a long road ahead with more surgeries and recovery to come. He remains in critical condition and is relying on the amazing hospital team and life-support machines to keep fighting.
Please continue to keep Doug and his family in your thoughts and prayers. Every share, donation, and prayer means more than you know. ❤️

My name is Kayla Amado and I am writing this on behalf of my best friend, Jessica Wagner, and her family during one of the most difficult times they have ever faced.
Doug is a Tempe, AZ resident and works as a Landscaper at Corona Del Sol High School.
On June 11, 2026, Jessica’s father, Douglass “Doug” Wagner, suffered a massive heart attack while in California. Doug remains hospitalized, intubated, and under the care of an incredible medical team as they work to stabilize his condition. At this time, there are far more questions than answers. Doctors have advised that Doug may need to remain in California for weeks, and potentially even months, until his heart is strong enough to safely give him the surgery he needs.
Anyone who knows Doug knows that he is so much more than a patient in a hospital bed. He is a loving father, a proud grandfather, a loyal friend, and a man who has dedicated his life to caring for those around him. His family means everything to him. The love he has for his children and grandchildren is evident in every conversation, every story, and every moment spent together.
Today, Jessica and her family are focused on being where they need to be—by Doug’s side. As they navigate this uncertain journey, they are facing mounting expenses for travel, lodging, meals, time away from work, and the many unexpected costs that come with a medical emergency far from home. Because Doug’s recovery timeline is unknown, the financial burden continues to grow while the family waits and hopes for positive progress each day.
If you are able, we ask that you consider making a donation to help support Doug and his family during this difficult time. No amount is too small, and every contribution will help ease the stress of the weeks and months that may lie ahead.
If you are unable to donate, we ask that you please share this fundraiser and keep Doug, Jessica, and the entire Wagner family in your thoughts and prayers.
Doug has spent his life showing up for the people he loves. Now, we have the opportunity to show up for him.
Thank you for your kindness, support, and generosity.
