My name is Cassie and I’m the daughter of Doug and Tammy Bengston. 

If you know Doug, then you know he’d do anything for anyone. Here’s your chance to help a man who has never asked for anything in return. 

On August 8, 2020 Doug was diagnosed with Stage 3 Rectal Cancer. This was not only a shock and utter blow to him but to his whole family. Doug’s doctors are aggressively treating this. Treatment consists of Chemo Infusions 24/7 for 6 weeks (he had a port placed shortly after diagnosis)and daily radiation Monday through Friday. The tumor is too large to remove at this point, the hope is that the tumor will shrink enough to remove when the time comes. 

Here’s where we are asking for help/support! The doctors are recommending that Doug stop working due to the aggressive treatment plan (also the risk of COVID right now doesn’t help). Doug is still working 11 hour days 5 days a week and working extra on Saturdays to try to make up time lost. Between Chemo exchanges, daily radiation and doctors appointments, he is losing so much work time. Chemo and radiation side effects are really starting to become prevalent but Doug is a fighter and doing the best he can everyday. When surgery comes, he will be off of work over a month (possibly more)unpaid. We are expecting this to happen around November/December. All funds raised will go directly to Doug to help him and his wife Tammy cover all expenses from groceries to bills to medication/treatment needs. Doug is the only breadwinner at this time (Tammy is on disability from her own previous fight with Breast Cancer/Medical Illnesses). Support is going to be essential for them.
