Doug Bwamu  is an anesthesia technologist at Seattle Children’s, who is currently in critical condition with COVID-19. With the permission of his family, we are sharing this update: he has been ventilator dependent for over 2 weeks now, and was placed on ECMO 5 days ago now. The next step is for him to get a tracheostomy to wean off his sedation and begin physical therapy. He has endured quite a fight already and still has a long road ahead of him.

Doug is a hard worker, friend to all, a single father of 2 boys, and helping care for his mother. He was previously healthy, in his mid-30’s. He is a music lover, has a DJ business on the side; he is also a supporter for Black Lives Matter and a devoted 12th man for the Seahawks.
