Hi everyone, I never thought I’d be in a position to ask for help like this, but I’m reaching out for my dad, Don. He is currently preparing for surgery to remove a tumor on his only kidney that doctors believe is likely renal cell carcinoma. Because he only has one kidney, this situation is especially serious and makes everything more complicated and stressful. In addition, the Doctor also found a 5.1cm abdominal aortic aneurysm. Over the past few years, he’s already been through so much with his health, including open heart surgery and ongoing heart issues that have limited him to working only part-time due to physical restrictions. With this upcoming surgery, he will be completely out of work for 4–6 weeks. Unfortunately, he isn’t eligible for short-term disability, and he’s already struggling to keep up with medical bills. Watching him go through all of this has been incredibly difficult. My dad is the kind of person who never asks for help and always pushes through, no matter how much he’s dealing with. He raised me as a single dad and has always done everything he could to make sure I was taken care of, even during his hardest times. Now it’s my turn to do everything I can to be there for him. I’m hoping to raise funds to help cover his bills and relieve some of the financial stress so he can focus on his recovery and health.
