On Christmas Eve, I came home to a burning house. It was an accident, and the cause of the fire is still unknown, but the house is uninhabitable at this point being that the unaffected portion has not been cleaned or aired out from the smoke. All four of us only the clothes that we had on when it happened. No home and no clothes but we have each other .
My husband, myself, and my two daughters were displaced. We are staying at a hotel, but that can get expensive. We're staying positive and trying not to bother anyone, but with this hitting at holiday time, it wasn't the best timing. I mean, when is it ever the best timing to be displaced?
Anything helps. It will be used to help us have a roof over our heads until we are able to get back into our house. I would like to try to get an Airbnb, but those are more expensive than a hotel. What was lost in the fire, you may ask? My daughter's room was a total loss. And due to no electricity going through the house, when we get back, we will have to throw out all our food from the fridge and freezer.
If you can, please help. If not, no hard feelings. Happy holidays.
