She has chronic pain, connective tissue disorder, allergies, POTS and asthma which severely impacts her daily life. We're looking for funds to improve her quality of life and help her get some independence. Her disabilities and current lack of funds for management of the symptoms and lack of accommodations makes her unable to work and often to function in daily life. Doctor visits and medications cost a lot and theres currently no way for us to save up even a little bit of money.
This year especially was stressful since she was sick more often due to her immunity being lower than usual.
She talked with her genecist, orthopedist and GP, they told her her symptoms match Ehlers Danlos Syndrome but confirmation of it would require a lot of funds for genetic testing. The orthopedist also reccomended swimming (which requires her to be able to get there in the first place) and physical therapy with someone who is experienced with patients with connective tissue issues and hypermobility, but thats also money we dont have but would significantly improve her quality of life.
The most important thing right now is to get her an active custom wheelchair and to have a financial cushion which would allow us to not stress about unexpected medical emergencies.
She currently doesnt have an insurance.
She's also Polish and we're trying for a spousal visa.
A price of a wheelchair we were thinking about (lightweight, easy to maneuver and with push assist) may cost even $8800 upwards and thats without the costs for a referral, consultation etc which would add additional $800.
Tests for EDS cost from $11,6k to $21,1k depending on the type.
Unexpected hospital visits may cost $1,5k-$3k without insurance.
