Our family is going through an incredibly difficult and uncertain time, and we are asking for support for Dino and his family as they face a long road ahead. Dino recently suffered severe spinal injuries that required emergency surgery. During surgery, doctors discovered additional damage to his spine, which resulted in a seven-hour spinal operation. He is currently in the ICU, where he remains in significant pain and is unable to speak due to necessary tubes being left in place because of swelling. He is weak, uncomfortable, and frustrated — but still fighting. Because of the seriousness of his injuries, Dino’s case has been escalated to severe by his medical team. He will require another major surgery later this week for facial reconstruction, and doctors have explained that recovery could take six months to a year, with outcomes still uncertain. Dino is not only a fighter — he is also a devoted husband and father to two sons, and a major source of income for his family. Because of his condition, he is unable to work, and his wife has taken time off under FMLA with no pay so she can remain by his side and care for their family. While she hopes to work remotely, that decision is still unknown. Between medical expenses, lost wages, daily living costs, and the long recovery ahead, the financial strain is overwhelming. We are starting this GoFundMe to help ease that burden so the family can focus on what matters most — Dino’s healing and being together during this incredibly hard time. **Update on Dino:**

Dino is still numb from the upper waist down. While he is starting to move his legs a little more, progress is coming in very small, baby steps. With assistance, he can sit at the edge of the bed, but he’s unable to sit up on his own because he has no control of his mid to lower spine.

He is scheduled to undergo full facial reconstruction surgery this Tuesday. We’ve also asked if it’s possible to get him into a wheelchair so he can be rolled through the halls or get some time outside of the room. Being confined has been incredibly hard on him.

His mental health has taken a serious hit. He’s struggling with PTSD symptoms, including nightmares, insomnia, and depression. He has always been very independent, full of life and very caring. He misses his dog so much also. Watching him go through this has been heartbreaking. He has been referred to a neuro rehabilitation facility in Dallas, which we are hopeful will help with his recovery.
