As most of you know, my mom recently had a lung transplant. She has never smoked a day in her life. Her idea of fun wasn't partying, but she could be the life of a party drinking Dr Pepper. That was her vice—Dr Pepper. My mom and dad raised five kids and were mom and dad to many more. They would do anything for anybody without judgment, just love!

My mother's lung transplant went well, but she has had some unforeseen complications that we don't yet understand. This has caused her to endure longer hospital stays, which means more money for parking and other expenses it takes to be away from home. The financial strain is growing, and it's been a challenging time for our family.
