Hi everyone, I never imagined I would be writing something like this, but our family needs help. Our mom, Diane, has been battling severe lung disease and pulmonary fibrosis and was preparing for a lung transplant. We truly believed we were at the finish line — she was expected to be at the top of the transplant list. But when we arrived at the transplant center, we received devastating news: her heart is not strong enough, and she was completely removed from the transplant list. It was heartbreaking.
Right now, our mom is very sick. She is on several medications and requires a continuous subcutaneous pump to manage her condition. She physically cannot work and is only receiving 60% of her pay while on medical leave. At the same time, she is facing hospital deductibles, mounting medical bills, her mortgage, and everyday living expenses. The emotional toll has been heavy, and now the financial stress is adding even more weight.
I know when people see fundraisers, they sometimes wonder what amount is “appropriate.” Today, I’m simply asking that if you feel led to give, please know that it truly matters. When a community comes together, small amounts can grow into something powerful. Every single contribution helps ease the burden and allows my mom to focus on fighting for her health. Funds raised will go toward hospital deductibles, medical expenses, medications, pump-related supplies, mortgage, monthly bills, and basic living expenses while she is unable to work. If you aren’t able to donate, please consider sharing this page and keeping my mom in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you for loving her and supporting our family during this incredibly difficult time. With gratitude, Kara, Melyssa & Angelica
