Hello everyone! My mom Diane ,was diagnosed in September 2020 with triple negative ductile
carcinoma in situ breast cancer and we are looking for your support. The type of cancer she was
diagnosed with is one of the most aggressive and rapidly growing of the breast cancer family. We
are thankful that the doctors were able to catch the cancer at stage 2b, but my mother opted to
have a double mastectomy. Because of the type of cancer she has, there's a high possibility of the
cancer coming back in these areas.
Diane is not only my mom, but also an amazing G-ma (grandmother) to my two children and friend
to so many, Before chemo, Diane was working part time at her neighborhood grocery store and is
the friendly face known for her expansive craft knowledge and ability to make you laugh.
After being diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer, Diane also tested positive for BRAC1.
This means that she has deformed genes that aren't able to fight off the cells that make cancer. Testing positive for BRAC1 also makes treating her breast cancer very difficult and there is a high
chance that it will come back in other areas.
I spent October in Seattle so I could take care of her after her initial surgery, but due to an infection she needed to have an additional surgery. She was able to have her breasts reconstructed during
this second emergency surgery but not without feeling the toll on her body. My mom will be having another surgery to complete the reconstruction process in July or August 2021..
My mom is having her ovaries removed on July 7, 2021 as her form of breast cancer has a HIGH
possibility to spread to ovaries, lungs, brain, pancreas, bone, etc.
We feel this cancer hit our family like a whirlwind and though we are strong and focused on beating it we could use our community's support now more than ever. My mom started chemotherapy in
January 2021 and completed her regimen in May of 2021. She had 4 AC treatments, followed up
with 12 taxol treatments. These treatments have left her with neuropathy in her feet and hands.
We are hopeful that this will dissipate over time. Since the beginning of October 2020 , my mom
has been unable to work due to fatigue and weekly chemo sessions.
In July, amidst Diane’s surgeries, she will begin paying for her medical insurance premiums….This is where we need your help. We are hoping to raise $6000.00 to pay for medical fees and to make it
so my mom can recuperate without stress. Our family understands this has been a hard year for
everyone, mentally, physically and financially. So we welcome support in any and all forms. Light a
candle for my mom's healing or keep her in your prayers. If it's not possible to donate, please keep us in your thoughts. We highly appreciate it.
Thank you for helping, reading and being a part of this process.
Much love,
The Ingram family
