This past year my sister Marlene, courageously fought brain cancer, but unfortunately lost her battle to it on Oct 4th at the young age of 39. My sister was a single mom who worked hard to give her daughter, Desiree, the best that she could. Marlene’s 19-year old daughter, Desiree, along side her grandma Paula and aunt Esme, had been Marlene’s 24-hour a day care-giver. Marlene’s dream was to see Desiree graduate from college, and yet Desi, unselfishly choose to sacrifice her admissions to UC Riverside to take care of her mom with so much love and patience. And yet, continued to this day trying to live her mom’s dream by taking online classes at the local community college, while taking full care of her mom. Desiree is a fighter like her mom! And she wants to honor her mother Marlene by fulfilling her promise to finish college. She wants to study to be a nurse, a passion she developed after caring for her mother Marlene. However, with so many unexpected expenses, including Marlene’s funeral, Desi is left with very little to start off with. Soon she will loose her medical insurance and Marlene’s disability income, which will add more expenses, while she is grieving the loss of her only parent. Please consider helping us help Desiree. Let’s make Marlene’s wish of seeing her only daughter,Desiree, graduate from college come true!
We appreciate all your love and support during these difficult times. God Bless!
