Support for Denny's family

Our friend Denny Stong's life was stolen during the shooting at the Table Mesa King Soopers in Boulder, Colorado. He was only 20 years old and was the youngest of all of the victims. I have known him since I was in elementary school, and he was a kind soul with a funny sense of humor and unique interests. It was only ten days ago that we were all hanging out at Bianca's house, talking and laughing together. This is the last thing I would have ever expected. I feel angry on top of the sadness, some people make decisions that lead to their deaths, which allows me to process it more easily. He did nothing wrong and deserved this in no way at all. He made no choice that led to this. He simply showed up to work, and was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I am asking for the support of the community to help the family of the youngest victim of this terrible shooting. Our friend Denny.

I'm hearing from different people that Denny was not just a victim, but a hero who guided people out of the store through the back and was leading people to safety before losing his life. His life was not lost in vain, as he had saved others while risking his. He is a hero.

Update: as I'm reading more stories I've learned that Denny actually stabbed the gunman and that's how he ended up bleeding and wounded when he was apprehended. What a brave act of selflessness.

I don't mean to make this political at all, but I considered his Facebook post on his birthday where he asked for donations to a pro gun charity instead of a present to him. He was talking about getting his concealed carry permit once he was old enough. He's always been pro second amendment. I just wanted to mention this because I know that this incident will be used as evidence for anti gun legislation, and that is the opposite of what Denny would've wanted, and I felt it important to mention.

For transparency, I am James Noland, I grew up with Denny in Boulder and went to elementary and high school with him. All donations will be given to his family for whatever they may need it for.
