Support for Denise's battle with cancer

I am creating this page for my little sister. She was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this month at the age of 30. The stage is unknown, it's grade 3, highly invasive, and already showing signs of impacting her lymphatic system.

She is currently facing a double mastectomy, and possibly losing her job as a result. She is a truck driver. The mastectomy alone requires 60 days off of work. Her oncology appointment is today, and will tell us if she needs to have chemo/radiation. If she does, she will be unable to drive for longer than the 2 months she will need to recover from surgery alone. Her current employer is only willing to hold her spot for 60 days.

My sister has 2 young children, one with special needs. The financial burden of being out of work with no pay, no FMLA options, or disability available is going to be much to bear for a young mother.

Any help would be graciously appreciated.

Update 8/29: Oncologist says stage 2-3. Double mastectomy is scheduled for 9/3.

Update 9/4: surgery went well, took the entire 4 hours, dr projected 3 to 4. She did great. Now onto the bad news, they took and tested 4 lymph nodes on the affected side and all 4 came back positive. All axillary lymph nodes were removed from the left and sent to pathology. This confirms a stage 3 cancer diagnoses and ensures chemo treatments will be needed. Thank you to everyone who has donated and shared. It means the world to my family.

Update 9/30: Denise received her full pathology report recently. Stage 3C, grade 3 invasive ductal carcinoma with lobular cancerization, and extensive lymphovascular invasion. 29/35 lymph nodes came back positive for disease.

Chemo port was placed this morning. Treatments will be starting on the 11th.
