This is so hard… my name is Crystal Macqueen. My mom is Dena Beavers. She died unexpectedly yesterday in her home…. She has been struggling recently with health issues and getting the help she needs. Any new symptom was pushed off to something else. About a week ago, she had started new medication. The last few days, she had been complaining of not feeling well and having headaches.. made the joke she felt like she was stroking out… her texts were always that of a drunk person even though she doesn’t drink… I begged her to go in, but she was so scared about getting dismissed… I had been messaging her yesterday since about 7:25 am.. never got a reply, which is typically normal as she has been trying to nap more when she can.. so I didn’t think anything of it. Come around 2:40, I stopped by after getting my daughter from school. I had to drop the turkey off and wanted to check on her… when I got there, she was in her spot sleeping…. Snoring away… I didn’t want to bother her as I knew she needed the rest… so I quietly left…. Around 4:45, my stepdad called because I had asked him to swing by, but he had just got off work and had a migraine. I told him it was fine and that my mom was supposed to come by, but she was sleeping. When he got home, she was still there snoring away and sleeping. He too didn’t want to bother her. He took his shower and went about the night. He started to realize she wasn’t waking up and hadn’t gotten up or moved. He tried waking her up…. to which he got no response… that’s when he had noticed her breathing changed and she wasn’t ok….. he called 911 and started doing chest compressions. The ambulance and everyone got there… they did everything they could, but sadly they couldn’t save her…… I blame myself so much… I should have been the asshole kid I usually am and bothered her awake… tried waking her up…. but I didn’t…. I wanted her to get sleep…. She deserved sleep….. she took care of everything for all of us.. my family as we’re struggling… she still helped on top of their own struggles she didn’t care….

the transportation fee from Mankato to Rochester for the autopsy is $600… we can hardly pay our bills…. I just want answers and for her to get her wishes of being cremated… that way her grandkids and I always have her with us…. Any money earned will go towards the transportation fee. All remaining fees will go towards an urn and 3 necklace urns, as well as to help her husband with whatever financial needs he is going to face. No one knows what to do in this situation. We’re all so lost…. so seriously anything helps……
