Dear Family and Friends,

I am Shalonna, the sister of Demitret Melton. I have created this GoFundMe to ask for your support on behalf of my brother Demitret who experienced an unexpected and life-altering medical emergency on August 12.

In a matter of moments, Demitret’s life was changed forever. He suffered a traumatic incident that required emergency surgery and left him in critical condition. At one point, we didn’t know if he would make it home again. By God’s grace, he pulled through and has now begun what will be a long road to healing and recovery.

Doctors expect that his rehabilitation, including therapy and ongoing medical care, will extend over the next 12 months. While he is fighting every day to regain strength, Demitret will be out of work for several months. While job-based assistance is expected to kick in later, there’s an immediate gap where he needs help covering basic living and medical expenses.

That’s why I have created this GoFundMe—to rally around my brother during one of the toughest chapters of his life. Any amount, no matter how large or small, would be a tremendous blessing. Your kindness, generosity, and prayers mean the world to our family.
