On January 16th 2019 we received the news that our family rock has lung cancer. On January 23rd we sat and listened to the doctor explain that the cancer is in her lung and her lymphoid with a expected life span of 1 - 2 years, we tried to grasp onto every ounce of hope that we could find. We came home and called the family to let them know what the doctor had told us. We cherish every minute of normalcy that we get. However this past Tuesday the normalcy that we have come to know was turned upside down when she was taken to the emergency room because of fluid on her lung. It didn't take long at all for the doctors to realize that she needed to be admitted because of her breathing. The doctor explained to us that she was getting 60 percent oxygen and still couldn't maintain a stable oxygen level, they also discovered a pulmonary embolism in her good lung and that her bad lung had completely collapsed. So after they drained a very large amount of fluid and put her on a blood thinner, they moved her to the ICU. They worked diligently to stabilize her breathing but the struggle was near impossible until they could start treating the tumor in her lung. This is when the doctors decided to transfer her to a another hospital with on site radiation. Once at the new hospital in the ICU we learned that the cancer has spread. The cancer is now in multiple places such as a lesion on the brain, the lung, the lymphoid, her bones and other places. We had her first round of radiation on Friday and she will be receiving high dosages of radiation Monday - Friday for 3 weeks when new scans are done to see if she is responding well. The good news is she is now out of ICU and on the hematology floor. We know this is going to be a very big financial struggle but the most important thing to us is to be able to enjoy every single moment that we get with the most beautiful soul we've ever encountered. So if you feel it in your heart to help us out with this battle, please know that it is deeply appreciated. If you are unable to help, we appreciate any prayers and support that you can offer. Thank You Love, Terry, Dedra, Joe, Jessi.
