Hi everyone, I am usually fairly good at writing, but this is a very hard and personal time in our lives. A year ago, Dean, my stepdad, was diagnosed with stage 4 Oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma terminal cancer. With a survival rate of only 3-6 months, he surpassed that in true Dean fashion, showing incredible strength and resilience. Unfortunately, today everything took a turn for the worse. This afternoon, Dean began coughing up blood and hasn’t stopped since. His hospice nurse has made him as comfortable as possible, and he is now in the transition state.
This situation is especially hard on my mom, who will be missing work to care for Dean. We are not much to ask for things, but if anyone would like to say a prayer for our family, my mom, and Dean, it would mean the world to us. The last thing I want is for them to worry about food or daily expenses during this period, so I am setting up this GoFundMe to support my mom while she is out of work and Dean as he receives hospice care.
The funds raised will help cover daily living costs, medical bills, and any unexpected situations that arise. Your support will ease the financial burden on my mom and help Dean during his hospice care. Thank you for considering a donation or sharing this fundraiser. Your kindness and generosity will help them focus on each other and find comfort during this difficult time.
