Support for Dawson's On Main Employees

If you are like me this entire coronavirus emergency has caused a range of emotions that will affect me for years to come.  While it may sound a little trivial at this point, not being able to go to Dawson's for some time is a little disappointing.  It is disappointing not so much for the food, I'll miss the pizza, or the drinks, but for the PEOPLE.  I have know the Hill family since 7th grade.  Chris and I spent many good times together on the basketball floor and in houses of complete strangers playing basketball in places like Martinsville, VA.  Chris supports this community!  Dawson's and the Hill family have become a part of the fabric of Speedway.  Where my heart really goes in all this is for the 30 to 35 hourly workers that Dawson's has.  We all get to see the "faces" in the dining room, bringing out the food, washing the glasses behind the bar, or just turning over the chairs at night.  We don't often get to see and appreciate the "faces" making the food and washing the dishes.  In this time of crisis, I started this page in support of the hourly employees  at Dawson's.  I know that Chris and the Hill family plan to keep paying their employees using all means at their disposal.  We can help as well.  I set the goal at $20,000 dollars which would be about $600-$700 per employee.  So if you had planned to head to Dawson's in March or April make a donation for the employees = the PEOPLE that make Dawson's on Main so special.  When you make your donation, if you want to give a shout out to a particular person at Dawson's I am sure they would love to see that.  We'll run this campaign for three weeks and then turn the money over to some of our favorite PEOPLE in the world.  George Washington once said, "Let your heart feel for the afflictions and the distress of everyone, and let your hand give in proportion to your purse."
