Dawn Charney and her family are facing an unimaginable series of challenges. Dawn's daughter Lexi plays on my daughter's soccer team, and I have come to know both Lexi and her grandmother Betty very well. Just days after the heartbreaking loss of Lexi and Ryker's father, tragedy struck again when Dawn and Lexi were involved in a serious car accident. Lexi suffered a broken jaw, and Dawn sustained a spinal injury that has changed her life. With Dawn unable to care for her children, her mother Betty has stepped in to look after Lexi and her little brother Ryker, providing them with the love and support they need during this incredibly difficult time.

Lexi is not only coping with the loss of her father, but her injury is also keeping her from playing soccer, which she loves so much. While Dawn and Lexi are recovering, we want to help lighten the burden of financial stress caused by medical bills and being unable to work. Betty, who I know best, is someone who rarely asks for help, but she is doing everything she can to keep her family together and cared for. The strength and resilience this family has shown is truly inspiring, and any extra support will make a difference for them.
