David is not only my coworker, but also a close friend who has always been there for others. Recently, he was involved in a shooting accident that left him unable to see out of one eye. After undergoing surgery, David now faces a long recovery and will be out of work for at least six weeks, possibly longer. To make matters even more difficult, he won’t be receiving workman’s compensation during this time, leaving him, his wife, and their three daughters in a very tough spot.
