Dave has always faced life with determination, even as his health challenges have grown more severe. Recently, he suffered multiple fractures to his spine in a serious car accident. This would be difficult for anyone, but for Dave, it’s even more complicated. He has lived for years with Charcot Marie Tooth (CMT), the most aggressive form of this rare disease, which has deformed his entire skeletal structure and affected nearly every part of his body, including his lungs. On top of that, he also battles Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and emphysema.
The accident has left Dave in need of urgent and ongoing medical care, including rehabilitation and specialized treatment. His insurance only covers so much, and the costs are quickly piling up. Because of his injuries and declining health, Dave had to end his long career as a rural route mail carrier at age 70, leaving him without a steady income. Now, he and his wife—who is unfamiliar with many technical matters—are facing these challenges with only a small circle of support.
Despite everything, Dave has always tried to keep his sense of humor and work hard, even when his health made daily life a struggle. Any help you can give will go directly toward his medical bills, rehabilitation, and the support he needs to stay safe and comfortable at home. Your generosity will make a real difference in Dave’s life during this difficult time.
