Support for Dave Zimmerman’s Pancreatic Cancer Journey

In June 2025, our dad, Dave Zimmerman, received the life-changing news that he had pancreatic cancer. A sizable tumor was found in the body and tail of his pancreas, and while initial scans showed no metastasis, the journey ahead has been a bit more challenging than expected.

Initially, he was a candidate for a full pancreatectomy and bravely completed eight rounds of chemotherapy and 28 radiation treatments to shrink the tumor before surgery. Along the way, he faced unexpected ER trips, hospital stays, medication changes, and strict diet and supplement regimens. His care has taken him between Wisconsin and Georgia, adding to the complexity and stress of his treatment.

After successfully completing chemo and radiation, we were hopeful as he approached his surgery date in February 2026. Unfortunately, during the procedure, doctors discovered metastasis to the peritoneal cavity and could not complete the surgery. We were devastated, but have continued to take action to find him the best treatment possible. We have been actively pursuing options for treatment across the country, including promising clinical trials.

Our dad retired within the last few years, and his current state of health prevents him from earning any further income at this time. Navigating this diagnosis has been overwhelming, both emotionally and financially. Yet, we all continue to lean on each other, and the hope, faith, and medical care needed to get him through this successfully. He has persevered with incredible strength and determination.

He has spent his life helping others without ever asking for anything in return. It took a lot of convincing for him to allow us to start this fundraiser, as he never wants to be a burden. We are deeply grateful for the time, effort, prayers, encouragement, and emotional support from our amazing group of family and friends. Any financial help offered will go directly toward his medical bills, travel for treatment, and high out-of-pocket prescription costs, helping to relieve the financial stress this diagnosis has placed on him.

Words are not enough to express our gratitude to everyone standing with us through this, and for the love and care being poured into our dad, and the entirety of our family.
