Dave Pratt has found himself on a difficult and uncertain journey since December, when a mass was discovered on his colon, along with some spots on his liver. He ended up requiring emergency surgery to remove the mass, at which time biopsies were taken. It took many weeks for him to receive his pathology results, but that finally happened in early February with a diagnosis of stage 4 colon cancer. While not curable, it is treatable, and Dave will be commencing bi-weekly chemotherapy treatments down in Campbell River in short order. We are hoping and praying that he will respond well to the chemo and that it will give us all a lot more time with him.

Dave has obviously been unable to work since all of this started in December nor will he be in a position to do so while he navigates the months ahead. As a self-employed individual and father of 3 strapping (and hungry) young men, this situation has already created significant financial strain and will continue to do so with treatment, appointments, and recovery ahead. Given the uncertainty of his situation and associated timelines, we are coming together to help ease the burden on Dave and his boys during this difficult time. Funds raised will go toward medical expenses, daily living costs, and ensuring his sons have stability and support while their Dad focuses on fighting cancer.
