Support for Darwin and Genesis

Genesis and Darwin need our help. As you may know, Darwin has been struggling with an uncontrolled seizure disorder. A few weeks ago he underwent brain surgery and had a prolonged hospitalization. Subsequently, he suffered numerous complications and has had to be re-admitted to the hospital, multiple times.  As you might imagine, these set-backs have been physically, emotionally and financially devastating.

As you know, Genesis and Darwin are very special people. Together, they have built a beautiful family with their two young children. They have traversed a very rocky road in their young lives. Despite the tremendous hardship they have faced as a result of Darwin’s illness, they continue to extend generosity and kindness to those around them.

Genesis has been a member of our Thundermist family for 5 years. She works tirelessly on the behalf of our patients, as well as her co-workers. She is constantly going out of her way to celebrate the accomplishments and special moments in the lives of others. In the past 5 years, there hasn’t been a single baby shower, bridal shower, or any other celebration that Genesis hasn’t organized. If something is broken, she fixes it. If something’s on fire, she puts it out. Car won’t start? No problem, she’ll call Darwin and he will come and fix it. Hungry? Genesis made flan. Sky falling? Universe exploding? No worries, Genesis is on top of it.  She handles any crisis, big or small, with a calm presence and a smile on her face. She takes care of everyone, and everything, because that is just who she is. It’s time for us to take care of her, and her family.

Darwin’s surgery and complications require Genesis to be at home caring for him and their children, for an extended period of time. Funds raised will provide the money needed, immediately, to allow her to do this. While they had hoped that this surgery would be the end to their journey with this illness, it is instead, the beginning of different journey.
