Update: With heavy hearts, we share that Darren passed away on October 15. His strength, faith, and love for his family carried him, and all of us, through these past weeks.
Darren was a strong contributor for his family and carried the health insurance that supported them. With his sudden passing, the family is now facing funeral expenses, ongoing household bills, and the reality of a significant loss of income.
Your donations will directly help ease these immediate financial burdens, covering funeral costs, supporting the family’s daily needs, and allowing space for healing without the weight of financial stress.
Every contribution, message, and prayer means so much. Thank you for surrounding Darren’s family with love and care during this heartbreaking time.

Darren is a country boy at heart, known for his giant heart and unwavering support for those around him. He’s always been the kind of person who puts family first, he is loyal, has unwavering faith in God, and lives by the simple principle of doing what’s right. Darren loves talking about all things farming, small town values, driving truck, and reminiscing about growing up in an era when seatbelts were optional and 8-tracks played everyone’s favorite tunes. His home has always been his sanctuary, surrounded with good friends, family, and chats around a bonfire or kicking back and watching the news.
Recently, Darren’s life changed dramatically when cancer was found in his esophagus, liver, and lymph nodes. The diagnosis came suddenly after a visit to the ER, and the illness has progressed quickly. Darren is now physically limited, unable to work, and facing a terminal prognosis. His wife, Jen, has taken a leave of absence to care for him and accompany him to appointments, while their young adult children are also preparing to take time off work to be with their dad during this critical time. Darren’s family is his center, and he’s always worn a badge of pride actively supporting his kids in their spiritual growth, hobbies, interests, and activities.
The funds raised through this fundraiser will help Darren’s family cover a range of urgent needs, including insurance deductibles, lost wages, ongoing household expenses, and the costs of care that are not covered by insurance. With Darren unable to work and Jen dedicating her time to his care, financial support will allow the family to focus on spending meaningful time together and managing the challenges ahead. Every donation, no matter the size, will help ease the financial burden and provide comfort and stability for Darren and his loved ones during this difficult time.
