On the 26th of June, my 24-year-old brother Darren went to his best friend's house to play poker. Darren did this most weekends. However, this weekend, the friend decided to show his weapons, as he is in the National Guard. The current story I've been told is it was an accidental shooting, and my brother is not coming home. This is very new, raw, and an ongoing investigation so details are very limited.

We are now facing the heartbreaking task of saying goodbye to Darren far sooner than we ever imagined. The suddenness of his loss has left us unprepared, both emotionally and financially. We are hoping to raise enough to cover the cost of his burial and to help family members travel so we can be together and support one another in our time of grief.
