Hi i’m the granddaughter of my grandma Darla smith. My grandma was recently diagnosed with a rare disease called scleroderma, if you don’t know what that is, it’s the immune system attacking healthy tissue causing inflammation and excessive collagen. There is no cure, no medication for this rare diseases and has a life expectancy of 10 years. My grandma was only 66 and she was always so healthy and active everyday. she recently started noticing getting scabs, cuts and black fingers and went to the doctor several times for this issue. Each time they basically shrugged it off, and sent her on her way, being that they didn’t recognize this disease right away. Once they did her legs and hands had already stopped working and she was now having to use a wheel chair and such. She progressively and quickly got worse and worse and had multiple trips to the hospital. Her condition got to the point where she wasn’t able to eat, drink sit up, walk and not have any control of her own body and needed 24/7 care. My grandpa had to do all her daily tasks and routines. She spent a couple days in the hospital and got sent home on hospice. She later passed on Sunday January 25th. So my grandpa and I are doing all we can to cover her funeral expenses, it’s been extremely difficult and stressful dealing with all this along with grieving. We are trying to get the cheapest opportunities the funeral home offers yet it’s still extremely hard. I hate asking, as everyone has their own difficulties but anything is greatly appreciated. thank you
