As we mourn the immense loss of Dan Eggen , a longtime Washington Post reporter and editor, we are collecting money to help support his beloved children, Madeleine and Max. Dan's sudden death shocked and devastated those who love him, and it also created unexpected expenses for his family, especially as they plan his funeral and settle his estate. We hope to alleviate as many of those bills as possible.

We are planning to hold a memorial service in D.C. in the weeks ahead, and we will share those details as soon as they are finalized.

(This fundraiser is being organized by Jenna Johnson, who worked with Dan for many years at the Post. The beneficiaries are Dan's two children, Madeleine and Max Eggen.
