My family could use all the prayers they can get right now. My cousin Dalton is a truck driver who became seriously ill while away in Kansas City, Missouri this past weekend. He was so sick and scared that he called an ambulance, and when he arrived at the hospital, doctors discovered a tear in his bowels that was poisoning his system. This caused his blood sugar to spike to 2,500—when normal should be 100 or less—and his body began shutting down. The doctors told my aunt and uncle that Dalton is a fighter to still be here.
Dalton had emergency surgery, and the doctors had to keep him open for three days before it was safe enough to close him back up. He is now on dialysis to help his kidneys recover and remains on a ventilator. My aunt and uncle, Jerry and Ann Boone, drove 16 hours from Hartsville, South Carolina to Kansas City, Missouri to be by his side. With Dalton’s condition still critical, they don’t know when they’ll be able to return to work, and their paid time off is running out quickly. Being so far from home means hotel costs, food costs, and possibly a rental car, all while Dalton’s bills continue to arrive even though he’s in the hospital.
For anyone who can help them through this difficult time, I know they would be so grateful. No one should have to go through the pain they’re experiencing right now. All money raised will go straight to Dalton’s parents, Jerry and Ann Boone, to help with travel expenses and Dalton’s bills. Thank you so much in advance, and please keep praying for Dalton!
