Dalton Parr was more than just the head chef at The Joint in Ocean Beach—he was my best friend, and truly a best friend to so many. Dalton was the most caring, compassionate, and loving person you could ever meet. His warmth and generosity touched everyone who knew him, from coworkers to guests, and his presence made The Joint feel like a second home for all of us.

A week ago, Dalton passed away unexpectedly, leaving a huge hole in our hearts and in our community. His family is now facing the difficult task of saying goodbye while honoring Dalton’s wishes. The funds raised here will help pay for his cremation and allow his family to bring his ashes to North Carolina, where his father’s family is from, for a celebration of life. Afterward, they will fly his ashes to the Virgin Islands, where Dalton was raised, to spread them at Hull Bay—his favorite beach and a place that meant so much to him.
