I am the aunt of Dakota Bacon, a bright 28-year-old whose life was tragically cut short in a head-on crash on US 24 and Huxman Road the afternoon of July 1st. Dakota, known to family and friends as Cody, was a charismatic soul with a caustic wit and one of the kindest, most caring personalities you could hope to meet. He was making college plans, loved watching Harry Potter, and dreamed of becoming an author—he was enthusiastically in the middle of writing a book when his life was taken.

Since his mother is emotionally shattered and unable to manage these tasks herself, I am establishing this fundraiser to help with the expenses of Dakota’s final arrangements and to ease the ongoing financial strain she faces. The loss of Dakota also means a significant loss of their household income, making this support even more urgent and meaningful.
