Support for Dad's Recovery After Car Accident

Hi! My dad was recently in a very bad car accident. He turned a blind corner to find traffic completely stopped. Unfortunately he was going too fast to stop safely and had to make a quick decision. He chose to swerve to not risk hitting the car stopped in front of him. Thankfully this decision saved people from being injured and no one else was hurt.

Unfortunately he was the one who suffered. By swerving he ended up flipping his truck and breaking vertebrae in his neck and back.

A year and a half ago he suffered a major heart attack and flatlined. He was incredibly lucky to make it out.

My parents are still recovering from the financial impact of that and this accident will add to their hardship.

my husband and I are doing everything we can to help and get things figured out.

With my dad’s upcoming surgery and recovery he will more than likely never be able to work in the same way that he was. He is the sole provider for my mom and him. He is close to retirement and needs to bridge the gap. They will also now be down to one car that is also in need of work.

They are trying to save to fly to Ecuador for my brother’s upcoming wedding. Whether my dad will be able to go or not is still up in the air. But the coming bills may put that at risk.

My mom would HATE that I’m making this my parents are not the kind of people to ask for financial help or anything at all really. Frankly I’m not either. But I’m not sure how else to help at the moment.
