POST-STROKE SURVIVOR STORY
Four months ago my dad suffered an intracranial hypertension stroke. Thank God he survived it! Today, 2/6/26, he was discharged from the rehab. While he is not 100% recovered, remaining in the facility long-term would mean losing access to the therapy he still needs due to insurance limitations.
After much prayer and consideration, I made the difficult decision to bring my dad home. I won’t pretend I have all the answers or know exactly what this next chapter will look like, but I am choosing to trust the process, even through the uncertainty.
Throughout this journey, my brother and I have been caring for our dad while also maintaining his apartment, managing his dog’s care, and covering personal items and necessities he’s needed during his stay at the facility.
This transition is HUGE and may temporarily impact my ability to work and has already impacted my real estate business, my two sources of income.
With humility (and embarrassment), I’ve created this GoFundMe to help cover the cost of my dad’s care until the insurance and other resources fall into place.
Asking for help does not come easily to me. I’m usually the helper, the giver, but I'm also my family's keeper and I will do whatever needs to be done for them. This time, it just so happens to be my dad.
If you’re able to, please donate whatever you can, or please share the link/story. Most importantly, please keep us in your prayers. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the love and support.
