This has been one of the hardest times for my family.

My dad was recently diagnosed with heart failure and spent over a month in the hospital. He was in ICU for a bit. We almost lost him — his heart is working at a really low percentage if medications are not working he will need a heart transplant. It’s only been a week since he got out, and my parents have been selling tamales and empanadas just to try to cover bills, meds, doctor visits, and daily expenses.

My dad has been a truck driver his whole life, but now because of his weak heart and the life vest he has to wear, he can’t drive truck anymore. He’s tried doing DoorDash to make a little extra, but it’s been really hard with his health and the language barrier.

Since he can’t get insurance, his heart meds and appointments are super expensive. Also, if he does not have insurance he can’t receive the heart transplant. It breaks my heart seeing my parents working so hard and still struggling.

This is a really hard and vulnerable moment for us. We wouldn’t be asking for help if we weren’t truly struggling. We appreciate every penny, every share, and every single prayer. ❤️
