On January 31st, 2026, my dad was rushed to the ER by ambulance after suddenly experiencing severe breathing complications that started at midnight the prior morning. We soon learned he had suffered a major heart attack—one so serious that doctors called it the 'Widow Maker,' the kind where someone can just fall out and die without warning. To this day, the doctors still don’t know how he survived, but we are so grateful he’s still with us. Since then, he’s been transported to Gainesville, FL, to receive the specialized care he needs. He has been intebated, placed in an induced coma, and has been given medicine that paralyzes his whole body from the neck down due to how critical he is. His recovery is extremely critical and rocky right now, but the doctors, nurses, and staff are doing everything they can to save daddy and keep him alive.
Asking for help is not something we do in our family very often, but we have absolutely no choice at this time. My dad is no longer able to work, and if he pulls through this, he has a long road to recovery ahead. Unfortunately, bills don’t stop when someone falls critically ill. Because he’s no longer local, we are having to pay for a lot of gas, food (when we can eat), and hotel stays, which add up quickly, and still try to manage to keep my parents bills paid. Anything and everything helps and is greatly appreciated. If my dad knew this was being set up, he would probably have a fit, but he also knows we’re in a tight spot and just doing what we can to get him better so he can come home and try to keep the stress and worriment off our mama while she stays by his side every day.
Thank you to everyone for taking the time to read, donate, or share. Your support means the world to us and will help us focus on what matters most—getting my dad healthy and home again. He is a fighter and strong but at this time all the prayers and thoughts would help because, he is also very tired. He has been thru so much already just in the past week almost and its not getting any easier. Hes already had 4 emergemcy peocedures just to try and one keep him alive and 2 hopefully get his body strong enough to where he can go thru open heart surgery and bypass. So please if you believe in the Lord and prayers please we ask you to pray hard for our daddy as he continues to fight. With love, the Kelley and Garcia Family.
