If anyone knows my parents, they are not ones to ask for help. So, I am probably going against their wishes and creating this GoFundMe.

My dad's health has been steadily declining over the past year. My mother has been by his side as much as possible, supporting him mentally and being his biggest advocate, and while doing so, has missed financial opportunities.

Dad was diagnosed with HCM (hypertrophic cardiomyopathy) within the last year, which caused atrial fibrillation and congestive heart failure (which he has been battling for almost a decade). We ran out of options in Bangor and decided to travel to Boston for a consultation at Tufts. We were told that he was very sick, and if he wasn't admitted, he would quickly decline and face possible death. The doctors estimated he would be at Tufts Hospital for 10 days, but unfortunately, other issues have developed, including a collapsed lung, hypotension, and crashes from low blood sugar and low potassium. He is currently in ICU and a discharge is not even on the table at this point. We know he is in the best place possible, and despite all the setbacks, we are looking forward to a healthier dad. His grandchildren and children miss him terribly.

I am asking help for my mother's travel expenses and other bills that have been set aside so she could travel back and forth to be with my dad. We appreciate you all so much.
