As you all know, my father was involved in a bad motorcycle accident on 03/19/2026. He was riding his bike, and a car made too wide of a turn into his oncoming lane. This has added an immense amount of financial burden with medical bills, not including anything past 03/20 so far, and that original estimate was already at $106k, not including his next surgeries scheduled this week.
He was transferred as a trauma level 1 Blue to Corewell Dearborn Emergency. He underwent his first surgery on 03/19. While recovering from that original surgery, he developed compartment syndrome, and in order to ensure he would not lose his leg, they had to perform an emergency fasciotomy. This requires a wound vac as well, therefore a skin graft next week during his next and hopefully final surgery. He will have to have home PT/OT, medical equipment at home, numerous follow-up doctor appointments, and a surplus of future complications due to this event.
If you know my dad at all, you know this was NOT an easy decision to make to create this fund. He does not like to accept charity, nor does he like to admit when he needs help. He is the person everyone calls when they need something because they know he will drop everything and run right there, regardless of if he knows how to do whatever they need help with or not. He has and would give his last dollar to someone if they needed it, regardless of if he had anything left. My dad is a selfless man; as hard as he comes across, he’s dedicated his life to ensuring the stability of his girls, family, and friends. If you have the ability to at all, this is the time to help him in his time of need.
