The Parent and Student community in Olentangy is coming together to support one of our seniors, Curtis Newhouse, and his family during a time of unimaginable transition. This week, the Newhouse family home was devastated by a fire. While we are incredibly grateful that everyone made it out safely, the loss is significant. In an almost unbelievable turn of events, Curtis’s mother, Tamara, went into labor the very same day and gave birth to twin boys.
While the family celebrates these two new lives, they are also facing the reality of having lost almost everything else. As a high school senior, Curtis lost his entire room—his clothes, bed, and personal belongings were completely destroyed. His three younger sisters, ages 10, 5, and 3, have lost their beds and all of their toys. The twin boys have come home to a situation where their clothes and essential supplies were lost in the fire. The family also lost their entire supply of food and basic household necessities.
We are raising funds to help Tamara, Curtis, and the kids get back on their feet. These donations will go directly toward replacing beds and furniture for the children, buying clothes for Curtis, his sisters, and the new babies, and restocking food and essential supplies for the household. No donation is too small, and every bit of support helps this family of eight start their next chapter. Let's rally together in support of this family as they put the material pieces of their life back together.
