Support for Critical Housing Needs

A significant pipe burst caused major flooding in the Echo Building in Cedar-Riverside, disrupting what should have been a safe place to come home to and creating an urgent situation for residents.

Over 100 families were temporarily impacted and had to leave their apartments with little warning. Homes were damaged, personal belongings were lost, and many residents are now navigating uncertainty around short-term housing, recovery, and next steps. These are hardworking families, elders, and children who already carry a great deal of responsibility, and this disruption happened through no fault of their own.

This fundraiser is about showing up for our neighbors when they need it. Donations will go directly toward helping impacted families with temporary housing support, basic necessities, repairs, and other immediate needs as they work toward stability.

If you believe in the power of community, this is one of those moments. Even a small contribution can make a real difference by helping a family secure a safe place to stay, replace essentials, or find a bit of relief during a stressful time.

Cedar-Riverside has always been a place of resilience, care, and togetherness. Right now, these families need to feel that support. Thank you for reading, for sharing, and for giving what you can. Your help truly means a great deal.

How Funds Will Be Managed & Distributed

Cedar Riverside Alliance will oversee and manage all funds raised through this campaign. Our team conducted on-site outreach and documented households whose homes and belongings were disrupted by the flooding in the Echo Building.

Funds will be distributed directly to verified impacted households in the form of physical checks. Each documented household will receive an equal share of the total funds raised.

These funds are intended to support families as they repair and rebuild their homes and replace belongings that were damaged or lost.

Impacted residents do not need to apply publicly. Cedar Riverside Alliance has already documented affected households and will contact them directly with next steps.

Distribution is expected to begin in early March once fundraising transfers are finalized and funds are fully processed.

We are committed to fair, transparent, and responsible distribution of support to our neighbors.
