A significant pipe burst caused major flooding in the Echo Building in Cedar-Riverside, disrupting what should have been a safe place to come home to and creating an urgent situation for residents.
Over 100 families were temporarily impacted and had to leave their apartments with little warning. Homes were damaged, personal belongings were lost, and many residents are now navigating uncertainty around short-term housing, recovery, and next steps. These are hardworking families, elders, and children who already carry a great deal of responsibility, and this disruption happened through no fault of their own.
This fundraiser is about showing up for our neighbors when they need it. Donations will go directly toward helping impacted families with temporary housing support, basic necessities, repairs, and other immediate needs as they work toward stability.
If you believe in the power of community, this is one of those moments. Even a small contribution can make a real difference by helping a family secure a safe place to stay, replace essentials, or find a bit of relief during a stressful time.
Cedar-Riverside has always been a place of resilience, care, and togetherness. Right now, these families need to feel that support. Thank you for reading, for sharing, and for giving what you can. Your help truly means a great deal.
