A devastating pipe burst has caused major flooding in the Echo Building in Cedar-Riverside, turning what should have been a safe place to come home to into a crisis overnight.
Over 100 families were forced out of their apartments with little warning. Homes were damaged, personal belongings were lost, and many residents are now facing uncertainty about where they’ll sleep, how they’ll recover, and how they’ll rebuild. These are hardworking families, elders, and children who already carry enough weight on their shoulders and now they’re being asked to start over through no fault of their own.
This fundraiser is about showing up for our neighbors when they need it most. Donations will go directly toward helping displaced families with temporary housing, resettlement needs, basic necessities, repairs, and other urgent assistance as they try to get back on their feet.
If you’ve ever believed in the power of community, this is one of those moments. Even a small contribution can make a real difference helping a family secure a safe place to stay, replace essentials, or breathe a little easier during an incredibly stressful time.
Cedar-Riverside has always been a place of resilience, care, and togetherness. Right now, these families need to feel that support more than ever. Thank you for reading, for sharing, and for giving what you can. Your help truly means everything.
